Where do we even begin? Maybe we can start by settling a little debate we have been having over the last 7 years, who really pulled the first move?

We'll set the scene:

Matt and Carly met at Michigan State on a February night, in a lovely bar named Rick's. They hit it off and continued to hang out "casually" over the next 4 months. With Matt graduating and planning on going back to Port Huron, and Carly with another year at school and spending the summer at home in Chicago the future was uncertain. Until....... Matt invited Carly to his Graduation Dinner with his family that was in town, a few nights before he left campus. Now, they have been going on date parties, out to eat, and spending all night dancing in bars together but meeting the family..... big step. Carly gladly accepted and had a great time meeting the Fernandez family.

Matt and Carly had a dramatic goodbye as they both went home for summer. Not even 2 days later, Carly called up Matt to invite him on her trip to Arizona that she had planned..... with her grandparents. Matt gladly accepted and they had a great time double dating with Granny and Grandpa. After Granny and Grandpa approved there was no turning back.

So you let us know, which was the real move to let each other know this was serious, graduation dinner or couples retreat with the grandparents?

Anyways, that may have been more than you bargained for, so we'll keep the rest short.

Carly and Matt endured a bit of long-distance (shout-out to our families for welcoming us for weeks at a time). In February of 2021 they moved into their first place in Chicago together. They loved hanging out with friends, exploring new spots to eat + drink, and walking around the city.

They adopted their pup Finn in 2022 and have been completely obsessed since then.

They decided it was time for a change and with two remote jobs, they packed their bags and headed to Traverse City, MI in the summer of 2023. A few short months later they got engaged at one of their favorite beaches in town. They couldn't be happier living an outdoor lifestyle, finding new hiking trails, wineries, plunging in the lake any chance they get and exploring any adventure that northern Michigan has to offer. We are so excited for you all to come get a little taste of why we love this area so much and chose to have our special day here with all of you!!
